ARMENIA: The flight service from Yerevan to Tbilisi is opened. Airline company “Armavia” started to fulfill regular flights from Yerevan to Tbilisi. The flights are made daily on Airbus A-319 and A-320. The flight departs from Yerevan at 18:40, and arrives to Tbilisi at 19:25 local time. The departure of the return flight from Tbilisi is at 09:15 a.m., whereas arrival to Yerevan is at 10:00 a.m.

GEORGIA: A new Radisson SAS Iveria Hotel opened in Tbilisi. In Tbilisi there has been opened «Radisson SAS Iveria Hotel – Tbilisi». The hotel was constructed by Development Solutions LLC, and is operated by the Radisson world brand name company. «Radisson SAS Iveria Hotel - Tbilisi» features 249 guestrooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 10 meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a casino. The hotel also offers special guestrooms for the disabled guests. «Radisson SAS Iveria Hotel – Tbilisi» is one of the high-level hotels in Georgia.

AZERBAIJAN: A petroleum bath is a new service of spa salons. To immerse for 15 minutes into bath with heated petroleum is what one of the spa salons in Naftalan (Azerbaijan) offers its guests. Petroleum contains many substances beneficial for human’s body. Though it does not resemble essential oils, many visitors of the spa salon are eager to dip into the bath with “black gold”.

TURKMENISTAN: A new Museum of ethnography and local history opened in Ashgabat. In Ashgabat there was opened a new Museum of ethnography and local history as part of Turkmen National Museum complex. The reconstruction works were carried out by Turkish company “Polimex”. The permanent exposition of the Museum of ethnography and local history makes it possible to get to know the social and economic structure and everyday life of the Turkmen people, their unique culture, as well as a diverse nature of the country.

UZBEKISTAN: «Czech Airlines» open flight service to Tashkent. Air company «Czech Airlines» has opened a direct flight service Prague-Tashkent-Prague. The flights are performed twice a week on Airbus A-319. The flight departs from Prague on Wednesdays and Sundays at 22:35 and arrives to Tashkent on Thursdays and Mondays at 07:15 a.m. local time. From Tashkent the flight departs on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:05 a.m. and arrives to Prague at 13:30. «Czech Airlines» company was founded in 1923 and at present is one of the oldest air companies in Europe. The company flies 105 routes to 45 countries of the world. Aircraft fleet of «Czech Airlines» company consists of over 50 modern planes including Airbus, Boeing and ATR.

TAJIKISTAN: Visas to foreign tourists are issued in airport on arrival. Under new regulations foreign citizens can obtain tourist visa not only at diplomatic missions of Tajikistan, but also in Dushanbe airport on presentation of tourist voucher. Such kind of visa is a special category visa among other 24 categories of visa issued to the foreigners entering the territory of Tajikistan. From now on a foreign tourist is exempted from obligatory registration with the local internal-affairs authority if his stay in the country does not exceed 30 working days. Moreover, ecology tax and permits have been also revoked. Until recently, anyone who wanted to make an ascent in Tajik mountains to the altitudes above 6000 m had to pay 100 USD, and for ascent to the mountains below 6000 m – 50 USD. According to the new rules anyone can ascend the Pamirs free of charge.

KYRGYZSTAN: A new "Asia Mountains-2" hotel appeared in Bishkek. In the central, quiet part of the Kyrgyz capital there was opened a new "Asia Mountains-2" hotel. The new hotel features 20 double rooms (8 standard rooms and 12 junior de-luxe rooms). Each guestroom has a private bathroom with cold and hot water, air conditioning, IDD telephone, cable TV (66 channels), a refrigerator, Internet access. The hotel also offers the services of a bar, fully equipped conference-hall (30-35 seats), transportation services. The new hotel holds the recognizable architectural style and well-established traditions of service and hospitality excellence that are intrinsic to“Asia Mountains” company.

KAZAKHSTAN: “Air Astana” and “Skat” airline companies reduce air tickets price. The leading Kazakhstan airline companies - “Air Astana” and “Skat” announced the air tickets price reduce. Now, passengers who would like to fly by “Air Astana” company can buy the air tickets two times cheaper than during the winter navigation, provided the tickets are purchased in advance. Besides, there have been introduced special tariffs for the passengers above 60 and under 25 years of age. The “Skat” airline company – the second airline company of Kazakhstan in terms of air transportation volumes – is also determined to adjust its rates. Depending on traffic and destination the air tickets price reduction can vary from 5 to 32 per cent of the previous price. The company also introduced so called special tariffs for young and retired passengers.

CHINA: The construction of a new Irkeshtam checkpoint has been started on the China-Kyrgyzstan border. In Ulugchat district (XUAR), the utmost western point of the country, there was started the construction of a new Irkeshtam border checkpoint. The new checkpoint is located in 140 km from the acting checkpoint and will occupy the territory of 3,5 square kilometers. Commissioning of the new building for customs terminal and other offices is scheduled for first half of 2010. The shift of the border checkpoint from high-altitude region to an urban settlement will make it possible to considerably improve the working conditions and continuity of passenger and cargo traffic through this checkpoint. Irkeshtam became a trade centre 125 years ago. Today it has the status of first category border checkpoint and is one of the busiest China-Kyrgyzstan border crossing for cargo and passenger traffic.
